Description

Bellagio Hotel and Casino and Fountains

The Bellagio Hotel and Casino is home to one of Las Vegas’s most spectacular and beloved free experiences. The world famous Fountains of Bellagio might just be the most iconic symbol of the city. The brilliantly choreographed dance between music, water and lights intrigues and captivates the senses. No display is ever exactly the same as the music changes from classical to opera; from Broadway tunes to pop, and dictates the waters’ jets and flow as well as the interplay of the sparkling lights. It’s pure romance and beauty and open to all as many times as you want.   The Bellagio Botanical Garden and Conservatory is another completely free experience for anyone who wants to wander. The 14,000-square-foot living and blooming playground changes seasonally and the colors and aromas of hundreds upon hundreds of flowers and blooming trees is magnificent. The Conservatory is located across the lobby from the front desk and boasts a glass ceiling that soars 50 feet in the sky. The framework and beams are sculpted oxidized copper with a green metal appearance called verdigris, set in floral patterns.   Not free – but not to be missed. The world renowned Cirque du Soleil® production of “O” calls the Bellagio home and if you see any show while in town this is the one you don’t want to miss. An international cast of sterling acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters perform in, on and above water to create a breathtaking experience in a magnificent theatre reminiscent of a European opera house. Check with the hotel for ticket availability and prices.   The Bellagio's art gallery hosts superb visiting shows from nationally renowned art museums. Free docent-guided tours are usually given at 2pm (14.00) daily. Be sure to check what's currently showing on the website before you go.   The Bellagio is considered to be the city’s finest resort with a 5 star rating and has over a dozen fine dining experiences; numerous causal cafes, 5 nightspot venues and 3 more casual bars.   Insider’s Tip: Original masterworks hang inside the resort’s Picasso restaurant. However, you might have to plead to be allowed entry without booking a table. I've succeeded once or twice and it is worth asking.
